Volunteer Positions
What volunteer opportunities are available?

Patient/family support in private homes: offer practical and emotional support, companionship, respite, perform supportive tasks such as errands, light housework, or transportation to appointments.
Patient/family support in nursing homes or assisted living facilities: provide companionship, read, engage in hobbies or activities, brighten someone's day.
Patient/family support in Elizabeth House: socialize with patients/families, perform tasks such as assisting with meals, answering phones, stocking supplies.
Office assistance: data entry, filing, assembling packets, mailings, medical records updates, donor acknowledgements.
Faith community representative: ensures individual faith communities are informed about hospice and palliative care services.
Community events/fundraising activities: assist with fund-raising from committee planning to event implementation (Tree of Lights, Auction/Soiree, and Golf Tournament).
Sew butterfly pillows, gowns, etc.: sew or crochet in your home or with a group you may organize.
Gardening: maintain the grounds at Elizabeth House.
Special service/complementary therapies: massage, reflexology, hair care, music/art, language translation.
Hospice Home Store: assist with the operations of the Hospice Home Store - tasks may include customer service, sorting, displaying merchandise, accepting donations.
Activities Volunteer: Assist at nursing homes and ALF's with group patient activities such as bingo, art, music.
