Millicent Burke Sinclair, Ed.D, MBA, SPHR®, SHRM-SCP
Four Seasons – Chief Executive Officer
Passion, Excellence, and Integrity are three key pillars which guide Millicent. With a passion for supporting individuals on discovering and living their cause and purpose – Millicent’s purpose is to engage all individuals so excellence through high performance becomes the norm. She demonstrates her purpose daily through a commitment to innovation and wellness as she inspires and sets a standard for lifelong learning and advancing professional competence and practice within healthcare. Millicent holds a doctorate degree emphasizing on adult learning/education and a Masters degree in Business Administration. She has an advanced certification in Business and Marketing Education and is certified from both HRCI and SHRM with the designations of SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional). She is also a learner completing her second year in the Thayer Institute’s Executive Healthcare Masters’ Certification Program. As a published author on Adult learning and organizational improvement she leverages data and resources ensuring that the entire workforce is committed to high performance as well as long-term strategic growth, innovation, and stewardship so excellence in care occurs at ALL times.
Throughout Millicent’s time at Four Seasons she has been an integral piece of creating, improving, and innovating departments, processes, and the culture of the organization. With increases in engagement, decreases in turnover, reduction of healthcare and organizational expenses, strengthened inter-professional collaborations, innovative marketing strategy deployment, enhanced growth team collaboration within the community, and improved focus on what is most important to quality patient care Millicent embraces the bricolage journey. She completely rebuilt the Human Resources Department, created an organization-wide wellness program: Vibrant4Life, challenged the Volunteer department for increased growth, re-engaged the Facilities and First impressions teams, substantially led the home care agency acquisition and operations, conducted and executed a needs assessment for Palliative Care post grant funding, worked with the senior leadership team in developing the leadership institute further, and has developed with the growth team a truly powerful marketing strategy that ensures responsiveness, reliability, and respect for all patients and families.
Prior to joining Four Seasons in 2014, from 2003-2007 she was the VP of Strategy and HR at a manufacturing company and drastically improved the organizational culture, market share, and quality product development and delivery. Starting in 2008 she ventured into the realm of education as a university professor and a local educator bringing awareness to the importance of constantly learning, growing, and challenging the norm. She developed complete programs and reinvented processes providing more opportunities for students to be prepared for their career within the community both locally and globally.
Millicent’s heart was home when she was blessed to join Four Seasons’ as she has known since she was a little girl that Healthcare was her calling and where her purpose could really come alive. But even more importantly Four Seasons served her family, makes healthcare possible for all regardless of the ability to pay, and is constantly listening to the community and improving therefore positively impacting lives, and that is what Millicent enjoys so greatly. Millicent’s dedication to hospice and palliative care has afforded her the opportunity to study alongside some of the brightest healthcare professionals within the Thayer Institute’s Masters certification program for Healthcare Executives and in Multi-View Incorporated’s CFO program where she obtained her certification last year. Prior to accepting the role of Chief Executive Officer, Millicent served as Chief Operating Officer for the organization. Previously she also held the titles of Chief Operating Officer for Palliative Care, Home Care, and the Vice President of Employee and Volunteer Solutions for the nationally respected, award-winning hospice and palliative care non-profit organization, Four Seasons Compassion for Life. Together she partners with all of Four Seasons to ensure that all who are served receive the best co-created care possible.
As an avid learner and nationally known educator and consultant in areas of business strategy, non profit management, human resources, operations leadership, and healthcare, Millicent sets the bar high and makes what is necessary possible for all she meets. Because of Millicent’s life purpose she is a living example of her purpose as she learns daily, grows continuously, and lives a life of joy. This is the culture she creates for all around her.
Millicent was born and raised in Henderson County, Four Seasons even served her family with the passing of her grandfather at Elizabeth House in 1999. Even as a child, born one month premature, she was determined, driven, and had a heart to serve homeless, those imprisoned, in need, and those seeking a more well life by constantly improving and removing barriers. She is married, lives in Flat Rock, NC and is honored to be the mother of two children. Millicent and her family are dedicated to total health and wellness including living an organic lifestyle. She enjoys the outdoors, learning, researching, building the community, and art and music. She is a member of New Beginnings World Outreach Church and a Paul Harris’ Fellow of Hendersonville’s Rotary Club.
Chris Comeaux, MLAS
President, CEO of Teleios Collaborative Network
Chris Comeaux (KO-mo) is an award-winning expert and lifelong student on leadership and the performance required to truly be a leader. He has spent his life and career researching, learning, coaching, and implementing the pushes and pulls necessary to create high performance leaders and high performance organizations.
Chris’s stated life purposes are twofold: 1) Through his work he helps shape and impact thousands of leaders in various industries and impacts them to live to their full potential. 2) Through his work he helps transform the way the future of healthcare is provided in the United States and later the world. Chris truly strives to live his life purpose every day in his various roles he plays.
Chris also has become nationally known as leader in our country’s hospice and palliative care industry, where he has spent a large portion of his career as President/CEO of Four Seasons in western North Carolina, a 2009 American Hospital Association Circle of Life Award Winner. Under his leadership, Four Seasons experienced phenomenal growth beginning in 2002: in four years, its census increased from 30 patients per day to over 1,000 per day. In 2005, the Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care honored him with the Peter Keese Leadership Award.
In 2006, Chris left Four Seasons for two years to build an alliance between the prestigious national healthcare consulting firm, the Studer Group, and Covenant Hospice in Pensacola. The vision was to transform, develop, and grow leaders throughout the hospice and palliative care world. Chris grew this venture from its infancy to an established coaching firm partnering with post-acute healthcare organizations from New York to California. He returned to Four Seasons in 2008 to apply what he learned in the trenches on leadership to an organization he knew and loved, and in many respects Four Seasons became, and still is, a learning laboratory for high performance- which is a journey and not a destination.
In 2016, Chris helped co-found Four Seasons Consulting Group (FSCG), a coaching and consulting company enabling health systems, palliative care programs, post-acute providers, and hospice programs to learn best practices and the systems necessary to produce those practices in their own organizations. And now, in 2017, Chris helped co-found The Teleios Carolinas Group.
Chris’s hospice career began in 1997 at Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, Florida. Earlier in his career, he worked with KPMG Peat Marwick, a “Big Four” CPA consulting firm, and with Cooper Industries, a Fortune 100 Company, in its Executive Development Program.
Chris has a Masters in Leadership from the Thayer Institute for Performance Virtuosity, where he still works as an adjunct Professor teaching Leadership.
Chris is married to Deshia and they are the proud parents of 5 children (3 boys and 2 girls) ranging in age from 17 to 7 years. Chris enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, reading, learning, and working on their 7 acre farm in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Janet Bull, MD, MBA, FAAHPM
Four Seasons Chief Medical Officer and Chief Innovation Officer
Janet Bull, MD, MBA, FAAHPM is the Chief Medical Officer at Four Seasons Compassion and holds a consultant assistant professorship at Duke University Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the AAHPM, board certified in hospice and palliative medicine and holds a hospice medical director certification.
Currently Bull serves on the steering committee for the Palliative Care Research Co-Operative Group and chairs the Membership Committee Janet has authored or coauthored several papers on palliative care and quality data reporting.
She helped develop the QDACT (Quality Data Assessment Collection Tool) which is now being used across multiple national sites to benchmark data and collaborate on quality reporting through the Global Palliative Care Quality Alliance.
Bull directs the research department at Four Seasons and has served as the Principle Investigator on over 45 clinical trials in hospice and palliative medicine. She is Program Director of the Palliative Care Immersion Course and a principal of Four Seasons Consulting Group, which offers consulting services in hospice, palliative care, and research. She also serves as a Senior Medical Advisor to Aspire Health.
Bull was the recipient of the Sharon O. Dixon Award in 2007, the Cuniff-Dixon Hastings Award in 2012, and the Josephino Magno Distinguished Physician Award in 2013. In 2014, she was recognized as one of the Top 30 Visionaries in the Field award by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and is the Principal Investigator on a 2014 Center of Medicare Innovations Grant demonstrating the value of palliative care. She is the current President of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
John Morris, MD, FAAHPM
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network – Chief Medical Officer Palliative Care
John Morris is passionate about helping people and organizations develop excellent palliative care programs. His role is to teach, mentor and develop great palliative care clinicians and leaders as well as develop palliative care organizations that succeed. John’s expertise in building strong foundations for new programs, creating dynamic teams and his thoughtful mentoring have been key for success.
As a pulmonologist and critical care doctor, John witnessed just how stressful serious illness can be for patients and families. He started working for Four Seasons part time in 2003 to help start palliative care programs in the hospitals. He left pulmonary practice to work full time for Four Seasons as Medical Director of Palliative Care in 2005.
John has worked with 5 hospital systems to develop palliative care in the hospitals and in the community. Four Seasons now serves palliative care patients in 11 counties in WNC. Four Seasons has 2 palliative care clinics and a strong home and NH palliative care program.
John has worked with several organizations to develop and improve palliative care services including Four Seasons, Pardee Hospital, Park Ridge Hospital, Transylvania Regional Hospital, Mission Health System, Greenville Health System, and Palliative Care of SC.
Chief Medical Officer for Palliative Care
John is co-director of the Palliative Care Immersion Course. This experiential learning experience for clinicians uses innovative techniques and role play to teach clinical palliative care skills to a national audience several times yearly. John also teaches palliative care program development in Four Seasons Center of Excellence. Over 30 organizations have attended these programs since inception in 2010. John received the Sharon O. Dixon Award for Clinical Excellence presented by Carolina Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in 2011.
In 2016 John helped co-found Four Seasons Consulting Group (FSCG), a coaching and consulting company enabling health systems, palliative care programs, post-acute providers, and hospice programs to learn best practices and the systems necessary to produce those best practices in their own organizations.
John is a founding member of Teleios Carolina’s Group as Chief Medical Officer for Palliative Care.

John is married to Peggy Noel MD founder of MemoryCare, a non profit established to help people caring for a loved one with dementia. They moved to Asheville in 1989 and have raised 3 children here. John enjoys running, hiking the NC mountains, fly fishing, gardening and bee-keeping. This activity allows him to enjoy dining out with Peggy in all the great Asheville restaurants.
Michelle Webb, RN
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network – Chief Learning Officer
Michelle Webb is a registered nurse with over 35 years in nursing practice. Michelle has a diverse healthcare background having practiced and held leadership positions in behavioral health, home health, and nursing education.
Webb has over 13 years experience in the hospice setting. She is a graduate of Indiana University (BSN) and the George Washington University(MSN), and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Minnesota with a concentration in Health Innovation and Leadership.
Webb has held a variety of progressive leadership positions at Four Seasons since joining the Four Seasons team in 2004.

Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network – Chief Operating Officer for Palliative Care
Christopher has extensive operational experience within hospice, homecare and senior living. He most recently worked as an Executive Director for Brookdale Senior Living. Christopher’s hospice career began at St. Croix Hospice in Oakdale, MN where he served as a part of the executive team that expanded the continuum of care from a single location into a 3-state area in the upper Mid-West.
Christopher built strategic partnerships within the regional market and lead the growth in census from 30 to 350 patients within two years; laying the foundation for St. Croix Hospice’s current average daily census of over 900 patients.
In 2010-2012 Christopher served as a volunteer board member and President of the St. Paul Senior Workers Association a non-profit, networking organization with over 300 members. Christopher co-chaired the 2011 Minneapolis/St. Paul Senior Workers annual conference with over 500 attendees, hosting Teepa Snow as the keynote speaker.
Annette Kiser, MSN, RN, NE-BC
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network – Chief Compliance Officer
Annette Kiser is the Chief Compliance Officer for Teleios Carolinas Group. Equipped with more than 30 years of health care experience, she is widely regarded as a regulatory and compliance expert in the hospice industry.
After volunteering as a nurse for a community-based, not-for-profit hospice in 1986, Annette quickly realized that hospice was her passion and, within a year, began working as a staff nurse. She enjoyed helping patients and families meet their symptom management needs and carve out quality time with their loved ones. Working in a small agency, Annette wore many hats and was deeply involved in quality and compliance.
In 2000, she took a position with another community-based hospice and guided the agency through the accreditation process with The Joint Commission. At this point, Annette returned to the patient care side of hospice and served as the Director of Nursing for five years. Her strong interest in quality and compliance led her to become the Director of Organizational Integrity.
In 2010, Annette decided to lend her expertise to The Carolinas Center, the hospice and palliative care association supporting the combined service area of North and South Carolina. Over the next 6½ years, she provided technical assistance and education to hospices – both non-profit and for-profit – throughout the two states.
When Teleios Collaborative Network was formed, Annette was recruited as the Chief Compliance Officer, charged with providing compliance oversight to multiple hospices. In addition to helping these organizations implement best practices, Annette consults with other providers and industry leaders as an expert on hospice regulations and related processes.
Throughout her career, Annette has been actively involved in advancing the hospice and palliative care industry at the state and national level. She currently serves on the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) Regulatory Committee, as well as on several of the committee’s workgroups, which assist the NHPCO staff with timely topics such as HIPAA security best practices, relatedness, and audit issues.
Additionally, Annette is an active member of the Palmetto GBA Hospice Coalition and advocates for hospice providers with the Medicare Administrative Contractor’s staff. She is frequently tapped to provide education at state and national conferences on subjects such as clinical documentation, general inpatient level of care, and current regulatory topics. Annette counts herself among a relatively small group of people who enjoy reading the Federal Register, the daily journal of the US government.
Annette holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing administration and is a board-certified nurse executive. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, and volunteering with her church. She lives in Troutman, NC, with her husband, Ron, and daughter, Tayler.
Alyson Cutshall, LMSW
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network Chief Growth Officer
Alyson in a Licensed Master Social Worker, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and an MSW from the University of Georgia.
Alyson began her hospice career in 2003 as a Social Worker. During her time in direct care, she developed her passion for hospice care, where she saw, first-hand, the benefits provided to both patients and families alike. After nearly three years in direct care, she then transitioned to become a community representative, where she found success in growing the number of patients served. She quickly grew to sales leadership, where she found success in her passion of ensuring that patients have access to quality end of life care.
Alyson has worked in sales leadership exclusively in the for-profit hospice industry. Under her leadership as a VP of Sales, she led one provider to achieve the top market share in Tennessee, organically expand to another state, and acquire a state-wide provider. She then worked for nearly three years for the nation’s largest for-profit hospice provider, where she traveled across the country to identify and facilitate growth through the provision of education and inspiration to teams.
Alyson left the for-profit industry to routine to her roots as a Social Worker in January of 2016; after one year, she was promoted to lead all Social Workers across 3 states for a not-for-profit home health care provider. There, she again became inspired to see the positive impact that healthcare providers offer to all eligible patients, regardless of payer or status.
Alyson feels blessed to join Four Seasons, where her passion for hospice and not-for-profit healthcare benefit the WNC community.
Alyson lives with her husband, Stephen, and son, MacCormack, in Greeneville, TN. Alyson enjoys reading, camping, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Janelle McCallum, RN, BSN, MSM
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network Coach / Chief Clinical Operations Officer
Janelle is dedicated to enabling people and organizations to achieve peak performance and resiliency. She has spent her career working with staff & volunteers who care for persons and their families at end of life. She is passionate about offering opportunities for families and patients to experience peace of mind with help from staff who are devoted to developing their craft and realize their significant impact in the lives of vulnerable families. Janelle has honed her gift of being the Rosetta stone to aid in the translation between key groups such as clinical and finance, sales and clinical, volunteers and fundraising, hospital systems and finance, human resources and clinical, etc.
Janelle is serving in the role of TCN Chief Clinical Operations Office and Coach to walk alongside partners to help them navigate and thrive in the complex regulatory, quality, compliance, billing, and competitive environment of hospice and palliative care. She helps bring actionable day to day practices to improve quality of life not only for families and patients, but for staff & volunteers. She is steadfast about driving outcomes that matter for mission-based not for profit hospices.
Janelle has been a healthcare consultant since 2017. She has spent the majority of her career as leader of The Denver Hospice (TDH) in Denver, Colorado. Recently, as President, she championed a core group of Admissions team members, Clinical leaders, and Sales staff to grow hospice referrals and admissions that resulted in 12% year over year growth with 40 for-profit competitors in the market. She engaged staff to improve HIM process measures to 100% and HCAHPs scores with 8 out of 8 domains better than Deyta average and most above 90%. Janelle led the effort to hardwire “family experience of care” initiatives and the clinical teams achieved rapid improvements and resulting high engagement and staff satisfaction. Over her tenure at TDH she held many positions thus giving her a vast range of experience.
In 2013 The Denver Hospice was an American Hospital Association Circle of Life Award winner in palliative care. TDH/Optio Palliative Care received Home Health CAHPs Honors status three years in a row (2014-2016) in partnership with Kaiser Permanente. She facilitated the opening and operationalization of two state of the art Inpatient Units. Janelle is a Charter member of Palliative Care Research Cooperative (PCRC) International Multi-Site Palliative Care Research Group. She was the recipient of Colorado Center of Hospice and Palliative Care President’s award in 2012 and Spirit of Hospice award in 2010.
Janelle’s end of life caregiving experience started in Philadelphia, where as a brand-new nurse she had the honor of caring for the hospital’s first patient eventually diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and seeing him through until his death. She realized that hospice may be her path when she found herself trading patient assignments to care for persons who were close to death. This fueled the realization of her personal mission of witnessing suffering and finding novel interventions to bring comfort. She officially started her hospice career at Hospice of Saint John in Denver, CO and within three years was recruited to join The Denver Hospice.
Janelle is a Registered Nurse, with a Master of Science in Management from Regis University. She recently completed an Executive Leadership Program from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in conjunction with Vistage International.
Janelle and her sweetheart, Arthur, are moving to North Carolina in the near future. Janelle loves music, personal development experiences, home improvement projects, cooking, and yoga. She and Arthur volunteer at church, spend time with family and friends, enjoy visiting Janelle’s parents in Tennessee, camping, gardening, and supporting cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, a goose, and a goat to be the best that they can be!
Four Seasons and Teleios Collaborative Network – Chief Information Officer
Troy is a technology leader who leverages broad industry and IT knowledge to deliver innovative technology solutions. Prior to joining the hospice and palliative care industry in 2014, his career spanned large enterprise financial services (AIG, Bank of America Merrill Lynch), midsized fortune 500 companies, small to midsized Homeland Security contractors, real estate, learning management, and internet technology companies, and worked as a consultant. He has experience with all major infrastructure, software development platforms, and integration technologies in use today and helped develop integration standards for the life insurance industry through the ACORD standards body. Troy has a heart of service striving to make others successful through technology so they can better serve patients and families. His driving philosophy is that technology exists to make good business operations better and that everyone has an ownership stake in technology, not just the IT department.
Troy is married and has three children. He has volunteered with his neighborhood and church as well as by coaching youth sports.
Four Seasons Chief Financial Officer
Mike is a seasoned healthcare executive with financial experience in both the acute and post-acute sector.
Mike began his career in the Financial Services industry where he held his Series 7 and 66 Stockbroker’s, State Law, and Insurance licenses. He then transitioned into the Software industry providing services to national healthcare companies.
After twice experiencing the impact Hospice had on his family, Mike realized his true purpose and calling was to serve those that directly serve patients. He began his hospice and palliative care career with Four Seasons in 2012 and in addition to his current role as Chief Financial Officer for TCG, Mike also serves as CFO for multiple hospices and as Senior Manager of Reporting and Analysis for The Teleios Group, LLC.
Mike enjoys the diversity and challenge of serving multiple entities and views his role as a strategic and operational partner that helps each entity reach their goals by bridging the gap between operations and finances. He accomplishes this through staff education and equipping leaders with robust and user-friendly financial information.
Mike considers it a tremendous honor and responsibility to come alongside his coworkers to allow them to perform their roles to their best abilities and ultimately creating the positive experience each patient deserves.
Mike views the CFO role as unique, in that it requires an individual to be able to quickly and seamlessly switch from a high-level, long-term, 30,000 ft. view, to digging deep into the “weeds” of a financial statement.
Mike is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional and has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Appalachian State University and an MBA from Charleston Southern University.
Mike and his wife Clare live in Columbus, NC and are the proud parents of 3 children; Brooke, Sullivan, and Beckett. Mike enjoys the outdoors, reading, plays and movies, yoga, and spending time with his family.
Maureen Williams, MEd, BSN, RN, CHPCA
Four Seasons – Director of Care Navigation
Care Navigation is an innovative service line launching in January, 2018 that provides personalized, expert nursing guidance through our complex healthcare system for individuals facing chronic or life-limiting illness. Maureen brings a rich and extensive background in bedside nursing, as well as nursing leadership, education, and research, to the position, which will initially serve residents of Henderson and south Buncombe counties by providing her insight and direct assistance to those needing assistance with healthcare and life decisions.
Maureen earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. She worked as a Registered Nurse in urology and home health care, both as a bedside nurse and nursing supervisor, for several years before returning to school to earn a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia with her focus being on Adult Education. Maureen’s training in education led her to a lengthy career as a clinical instructor in both the community college and private agency settings, primarily instructing home health aides, or Certified Nursing Assistants. During this time, Maureen also participated in, contributed to, and edited numerous research studies and publications in the home health and home care disciplines, serving on several professional editorial boards for noteworthy publications. She continued to consult as an educator and contributor during a 14-year career with Capital Caring, a hospice and palliative care agency in the Washington, D.C. area, where she served in numerous nursing leadership capacities, including four years as General Manager for a three-county region.
Since joining the Four Seasons team in 2013, Maureen has led efforts to grow hospice services in Buncombe, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, Cherokee, Clay, and Graham counties, serving as Regional Director of Hospice Services for these counties since 2015. Her outstanding leadership has ensured that more residents of rural areas can receive specialized and expert end-of-life care, also partnering with area healthcare agencies, community physicians, and local facilities to provide community education around end-of-life care.
As a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator, Maureen brings her training and background to the role of Director of Care Navigation, which will ensure that western North Carolina residents understand how to navigate decisions about their care with ease.
Maureen is a member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, the National Council of Hospice and Palliative Professionals, and Sigma Theta Tau International, which is The Honor Society of Nursing.
Rikki Nugent Hooper – Regional Director of Palliative Care
Rikki is a strong believer in quality care at end of life and advocates for her patients and families to achieve their goals.
In 1991, Rikki immigrated to the U.S. after completing basic nurse education in England. As an RN, she worked in oncology and in critical care prior to becoming an FNP. As an FNP, she worked in critical care, sleep and pulmonary medicine before coming to Four Seasons in 2004.
Rikki is certified in Advanced Hospice and Palliative Nursing and provides care for patients in all settings, both pediatric and adult. She has presented at both regional and national meetings on a variety of topics. She also serves on the AAHPM Task Force for Quality.
Outside of work, she has volunteered at the Free Clinics in Henderson County and has been a Girl Scout leader for 17 years. She has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. She loves to spend time outside, gardening, hiking and generally enjoying the mountains. She also enjoys sewing, knitting and cooking.
Brandi Allison, RN, BSN, CHPN, MLAS
Four Seasons – Regional Director Clinical Services – Henderson, Polk, Rutherford and Transylvania counties
Brandi is a Henderson County native she graduated in 1995 with BSN in Nursing from Western Carolina University. The first 10 years of her career she specialized in providing long term care – functioning as a charge nurse, MDS Coordinator, ADON, Staff Development and the Director of Nursing.
In November of 2004 Brandi transitioned to hospice care and Four Seasons Compassion for Life. She received CHPN (Certified Hospice Palliative Nurse Certification) in 2006 and became a certified “train the trainer” in 2009. Brandi received her Masters in Leadership Arts & Science Certification via the Thayer Institute in December 2015. Her current role is the Regional Director of Clinical Services for Henderson, Polk, Rutherford & Transylvania Counties, as well as, the Four Seasons Inpatient Unit located in Flat Rock, the Elizabeth House.
Shannon Mullis, RN
Four Seasons – Regional Director of Clinical Care Services, Buncombe, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, Cherokee, Clay, and Graham counties.
Shannon is a native of Asheville, North Carolina, born and raised. She graduated from TC Roberson High school where she obtained her CNA license and later obtained her nursing degree from Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. Her career started with a focus in Long Term Care which is where she realized her heart for hospice. She admits during the beginning of her career to having little personal understanding with end of life experiences as her family has luckily been quite healthy though through working as a Floor Nurse, Weekend Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing and then Interim Director of Nursing, Shannon quickly became more and more aware of the value of palliative and hospice care and difference Four Seasons made to the patients and families in the facility she managed. When a position came available in 2007, she “knew in her heart”, Four Seasons was where she was meant to work. Since that time Shannon has served as a Primary Nurse on the Henderson County team before the Buncombe County team was formed and she transitioned to become the Clinical Team Leader in her hometown of Asheville, NC. During that time, she still carried a caseload providing hands on care to many patients and families experiencing the hardest time of their life, providing an extra layer of support and often a shoulder to lean on. After that Shannon’s role shifted to become a Care Experience Coordinator which allowed her to be a voice and advocate protecting the overall experience the patient and family have while in our care. As a CEC she leaned about leadership, teamwork and how to persevere in the most difficult of times.
Most currently Shannon serves as the Four Seasons Director of Clinical Services for the Buncombe County Region which allows her to build and sustain relationships with community partners while leading a team of over 25 clinical staff, social workers, chaplains and other support team members.
Shannon says what she treasures most about her work at Four Seasons is the honor and gratitude she feels when she can provide the most trusted and compassionate care for people when they need it most; when they are most vulnerable and sometimes hesitant to receive help in any way, that is when she sees her colleagues shine the brightest. “The end of life is one of the most personal and sacred times any of us will ever experience so I find it a true blessing and privilege to be part of that journey. We all begin as strangers but leave as friends with a connection that lasts a lifetime”.
In Shannon’s spare time you will find her side by side, arm in arm with her best friend, her daughter Kayla who is following in her mother’s footsteps having declared a major midway through her freshman year at Western Carolina University and is well on the way to become a nurse herself!
Having spent most of her adult life being a single parent Shannon’s devoted her time and attention to her daughter; supporting her through school, extra-curricular activities and doing everything she could to raise a strong, independent and confident young woman.
Now an empty-nester Shannon is finding her “new normal”; spending quality time with her family and friends and frequenting WCU for guilty pleasure dinner dates consisting of pasta and cheesecake with Kayla and her friends. She also enjoys a little Carpool Karaoke with her daughter and Harley, the family dog, but says she can’t hit the high notes quite like she once could!
Laughter is the medicine to heal her soul, family is her favorite pastime and she bleeds nothing but Carolina Blue. Go Tar Heels!

Jill Rosenberg, RN
Compassionate Home Care – Director/Director of Nursing
Jill Rosenberg is the Director/Director of Nursing of Compassionate Home Care. Jill joined Four Seasons Compassion for Life in 2015. She had previously spent 20 years delivering hospice care in New York City. She has always been a believer in the interdisciplinary approach in order to provide the best care physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Joining the team at Compassionate Home Care as of this year, she is very excited about providing quality care to those in our community who have a desire to stay at home, wherever that home may be. Fully dedicating herself to the CHC mission of “Positively Impacting Lives”, Jill loves working with her administrative team and the caregivers.
Along with spending time with family and friends, she loves to dance, read, volunteer in the Four Seasons Home Store, and simply enjoy living in this scenic mountain area we call home.
Loretta Shelton, CFRE
Four Seasons Foundation Executive Director

Loretta is a twenty-year veteran in nonprofit management. She joined the Four Seasons team in 2015 as the Foundation’s first Executive Director.
Loretta earned her BA in Organizational Communications from Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University) and her MA from Liberty University. She earned a Nonprofit Management Certification from Duke University and a master’s level Certification in Project Management from Western Carolina University. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), a recognition of her personal and professional achievement and commitment. Before taking the position at Four Seasons, Loretta served at Mars Hill College and North Carolina State University Agricultural and Life Sciences Foundation.
Loretta is an active volunteer and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education Foundation (ACPE) and the North Carolina Hospice and Home Care Foundation.
Most importantly, Loretta is passionate about helping those suffering from chronic and serious illnesses. She is a cancer survivor, and prior to coming to Four Seasons, she walked alongside patients and families as a hospice volunteer. These experiences deepened her understanding of the impact that the generosity of others can make on another human’s life, making her a stronger, more effective leader, community builder, and storyteller.
Loretta is fulfilling her life’s purpose of strengthening community as leader of the Foundation. She believes that love expressed through sharing of one’s time, talents, and financial resources provides unparalleled satisfaction and joy.
