INTRODUCING OUR NEW Q&A SECTION TO THE VOLUNTEER NEWSLETTER!

Q: How will you recognize the pet therapy dogs for their service?
– Carole Parshall, Administrative Volunteer

A: Thank you for your question, Carole! We have done a lot of brainstorming as a team this year for how we can better honor our furry, four-legged Volunteers and their human counterparts. From visits to assisted living facilities and nursing homes to serving at Camp Heart Songs with bereaved children, our Pet Therapy program is an important part of helping us co- create the care experience for our patients and their loved ones. In FY16, we had 12 Pet Therapy Volunteers donate over 85 hours of their time in service to Four Seasons! (That’s 595 hours in dog years!) National Pet Therapy Day is April 30 and we plan to celebrate this special group of Volunteers with some pup-friendly treats at the end of that month. We also plan formally to recognize our furry Volunteers and their owners at our Annual Appreciation Dinner this coming August.

Just a few of our talented, four-legged Volunteers…

In an effort to continue a dialogue and open communication throughout the year, we decided to introduce this new section to our Volunteer Newsletters. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions of your Volunteer Coordinators and the Four Seasons Leadership Team. To have your question(s) featured in our next Newsletter, please submit them to Lauren Purdy at lpurdy@fourseasonscfl.org. Thank you! We look forward to hearing from you!
